It used to be that new CEOs did a whirlwind tour of their company's locations to introduce themselves.
Now, video and company intranets make it a lot easier to start communicating the transition effectively.
The posts here have slowed down and may continue to be sporadic through this week. Not sure yet. Am in the midst of a CEO transition week and they are always fascinating, busy, intense, and interesting. Right now it's video, employee communication, and deciding what to highlight about what will be important from the new CEO perspective.
Deliberate transitions are necessary.
They are about building bridges and taking the time to bring a collection of people from one point in their organizational life to another.
Every one of these is different because of the principals involved. Yet they all have principles that need to be closely followed if the transition is going to be a success.
Looking forward to keeping you posted along the way. . .and please comment or send an email with your own favorite transition principles and stories.
