Shameless self-promotion is not one of my strengths. It always seems easier for me to promote other people and their ideas.
However: His Crankiness, Wayne Turmel, emailed to let me know that his podcast interview of me is now up and available at--where else--The Cranky Middle Manager. Or, you can click here.
Wayne is not only a funny guy and a good interviewer, but he's the only guy I know who can get away with a lead-in to Leadership by talking about Johnny Appleseed.
Special thanks to Wally Bock and Dr. Ellen Weber for making the connections that helped this happen.
We covered lots of Leadership ground in the interview...let me know what you think.

Look forward to listening to it tommorow at work! :)

Thanks for being on the show, Steve. You were a great interview and I know my listeners appreciated it. Don't let the weasels get you down....

Steve,
I listened to the interview today while doing some maintenance work in my files, but those wound up being left for later so I could concentrate on this terrific discussion. I have not visited Wayne's site, before, but I will be a regular there, now. He delivers the podcast with a great format and interview style - and when he has a resource like you on the line, it can't help but be, as it was, an intensely interesting and valuable listen.
Your observations were frank and trenchant. I really don't see how anyone could listen to this interview (any more than they could visit your site) and not come away with things to think about that will improve their management skills and their ability to contribute to their organizations.
Really nicely done - a great outlet for a real resource. Thanks for doing it and for letting us know about it!

Steve:
I listened to the podcast. Usually my attention span rivals that of spinning top. Yet I listened and stayed focused and appreciated both what you said and how you said it. Good points about management and leadership and the joy of working on presentation skills and being able to see change by the end of the day. Watch out that you don't become one of those celebrity leaders!

David and Phil,
Well, thank you both for the kind comments on the podcast. (Especially since it's been a somewhat difficult week, as evidenced by the unusual lack of daily posts).
Wayne does, indeed, have an effective and relaxed style of interviewing. He hit on topics near and dear to my heart, which made it all the easier to respond.
Let's keep the conversations going...
