I agree with you Steve. Not only in customer service, but everywhere, smile is so important. Why people ignore this many times in their life, I don't know. When we say Good Morning with a smile in our face, it lights the day of the other person. This is contagious and he will repeat the same thing, even while talking over the phone. It is really too bad that you had an experience like that, but it seems to be a lot more common than it used to be years ago.

I do agree that sometimes a smile can make the difference, but be sure that it is genuine - or it will have the opposite effect of what was intended.
